Why choose chickweed?
Chickweed enjoys a reputation as a traditional remedy for a wide spectrum of conditions, including rough,
dry, itchy and/or angry skin.
Our Chickweed Combination Herb Extract Cream formula has been improved, with the addition of
complimentary herbal extracts along with added antioxidants for that extra silky, soft and smooth feeling.
Chickweed is widely used by naturopaths and herbalists for many skin complaints. It is known to cool, soothe
and relieve itching of the skin.
Our new formula contains these beneficial additions:
Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf extract
Aloe vera is also known as the “true” or “medicinal” aloe and is widely thought to have soothing,
moisturising, and healing properties. It is a species of the succulent plant in the genus Aloe that is believed
to have originated in the Sudan. Aloe vera is widely distributed in Africa, India and other arid regions. Many
scientific studies have been carried out on the use of extracts of aloe vera.
Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract
Used in the finest skin remedies as a soother.
Arctium majus (burdock) root extract
Burdock root oil extract is rich in phytosterols and essential fatty acids, including the rare long-chain
Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). These beneficial oils are required by the body to maintain overall health and
well-being, including soft and glowing skin.
Citric acid (Vitamin C)
An antioxidant which helps to offset the effects of free radical damage.
Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract
Known for soothing and calming angry skin.

Product ingredients
What is chickweed? Chickweed, also known as satinflower, tongue grass, Addre's mouth, starweed, and chickenwort, is an annual herb, widespread in temperate
regions. The chickweed plant is medicinal and edible, highly nutritious and high in vitamins and minerals. Chickweed is most commonly used in ointment form that is
applied to the skin to relieve inflammatory skin problems.
Chickweed uses: For centuries chickweed has been used for its skin healing properties. Chickweed acts as an emollient and has a cooling and drying effect on
wounds, skin eruptions and itchy skin. It is therefore an excellent natural and hypo-allergenic skin treatment for minor burns and irritated skin caused by rashes and
eczema. The medicinal properties of this common garden weed, combined with its nutritional properties, make it perfect for a natural skin cream.
Chickweed benefits: For those who react badly to unnatural creams, make-up and other skin and beauty products, a natural health alternative is the answer. We
cannot list the wide variety of herb benefits here, but natural plant remedies can offer a soothing and cooling alternative for those with sensitive skin. Chickweed, in
particular, contains high amounts of beneficial vitamins (e.g. vitamin C) and flavonoids.
Natural beauty products are one of the best ways to avoid recurring skin complaints. This hypoallergenic natural skin cream not only contains chickweed, but it also
contains a unique combination of herbal extracts. For example, soothing and cooling aloe vera, calming chamomile flower extract, burdock root extract, lavender
flower extract, panax ginseng root extract, comphrey root extract, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
